Start Date: September 2025

Are you a compassionate teacher ready to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs?

This welcoming and well-resourced SEN school is seeking an SEN Teacher or ECT with QTS to join their exceptional team. Whether you’re just starting out or looking for a fresh, purposeful role, this is an opportunity to teach in a school that truly lives its values — inclusion, compassion, and student-centred learning.

Why This SEN School?
Located near Battersea in Wandsworth, this secondary and post-16 school supports pupils with a range of needs including autism, speech and language difficulties, SEMH and moderate learning needs. Staff here don’t just teach — they nurture, empower, and celebrate every student.

The school goes above and beyond to ensure that all students feel valued and supported. The inclusive culture is driven by a deep love for the pupils and a belief that every young person can thrive. Staff build genuine, lasting relationships with students, and the leadership team ensures the right support is always in place. As an SEN Teacher or ECT here, you will be enriched in this culture of positivity and progress.

This exceptional school also comes equipped with:

  • Purpose-built sensory integration rooms for regulation and therapy
  • A life skills suite (kitchen, laundry, flat simulation) to promote independence
  • A hydrotherapy pool and physiotherapy space to support physical development
  • Onsite therapy pods for speech & language and occupational therapy sessions
  • A multisensory immersive room used for storytelling, learning and calming activities
  • Outdoor learning spaces, including a therapeutic garden and horticulture area

What to expect in this SEN Teacher or ECT role:

  • A carefully structured ECT programme with specialist SEN mentoring
  • Weekly CPD focused on autism, communication strategies, trauma-informed practice and more
  • A transdisciplinary team including therapists and dedicated support staff
  • Reduced class sizes and personalised curricula to ensure every student makes progress
  • A culture of collaboration, celebration, and professional growth
  • Regular wellbeing initiatives and a strong, supportive SLT

Your role as SEN Teacher or ECT:

  • Deliver personalised, engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and Post-16 where applicable)
  • Adapt content to meet the diverse needs of learners with EHCPs
  • Build safe, trusting relationships with students and their families
  • Collaborate with TAs and therapists to support holistic development
  • Contribute to enrichment activities like enterprise, gardening, creative arts, and animal therapy
  • Embrace feedback and CPD to continually grow your practice

The type of SEN Teacher or ECT we are looking for:

  • ECTs who want to start their career in a nurturing, high-impact setting
  • Qualified teachers passionate about SEND and inclusive practice
  • Resilient, reflective educators with warmth, creativity, and adaptability
  • Teachers who value teamwork, emotional intelligence, and personalised education

How to apply for this SEN Teacher or ECT role:
If you’re ready to inspire and empower learners with additional needs as an SEN Teacher or ECT — and want to teach in a school where you’ll be supported, valued, and encouraged to grow — we’d love to hear from you. Please apply by submitting your CV.
