Job summary

Supply Desk is seeking a passionate SEND Teacher for a welcoming school in Chesham. The role is full-time, commencing September 2026, and focuses on learners with additional needs, delivering personalised and engaging learning experiences.

You will collaborate with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, and therapists, adapt teaching strategies, and monitor progress to inform planning. DBS checks and safeguarding compliance are required.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of SEND provision and strategies for supporting individual learners.
  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach to supporting students with a range of needs.
  • An understanding of EHCPs, safeguarding, and child protection procedures.
  • A current enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive, and differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs.

About the Role

Are you a passionate and dedicated SEND Teacher looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking an enthusiastic SEND Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive school, where you'll provide personalised and engaging learning experiences that support students with additional needs to develop academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive, and differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with SEND.
  • Teach and support students across a range of abilities and additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and complex learning difficulties.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and supportive classroom environment where every student feels valued and encouraged to achieve their potential.
  • Adapt teaching strategies, resources, and activities to meet individual learning needs and promote engagement.
  • Monitor, assess, and record students' progress, using assessment information to inform planning and provide targeted support.
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, therapists, parents, and other professionals to ensure students receive appropriate support.
  • Support the implementation of EHCP targets and individual learning plans, contributing to students' academic, social, emotional, and personal development.
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, independence, communication, and social skills.
  • Differentiate learning effectively to ensure all students can access the curriculum and make progress.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and professional conduct at all times.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of SEND provision and strategies for supporting individual learners.
  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach to supporting students with a range of needs.
  • A genuine passion for inclusive education and helping every student achieve their potential.
  • An understanding of EHCPs, safeguarding, and child protection procedures.
  • A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
