Job summary

Keys Education is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to support Tees Valley College in delivering education and care to pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours. The role focuses on trauma-informed support to promote wellbeing and achievement, within a therapeutic, inclusive setting.

The incumbent will assist with learning activities, behaviour management, and resource preparation, while contributing to a safe and nurturing classroom environment. DBS checks are required.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience minimum in a SEND environment or similar unit/provision.
• A Level 3 TA qualification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist pupils with learning activities under teacher guidance.
• Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development using trauma-informed approaches.
• Help manage behaviour in line with school policy and Staff Code of Conduct.
• Encourage pupil engagement and independence in learning tasks.
• Assist with classroom organisation and preparation of resources.
• Support record-keeping and monitoring of pupil progress as directed.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and orderly learning environment.
