Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting SEND Support Workers to support pupils with autism, learning disabilities and other needs in specialist schools across the UK. You do not need prior school-based experience—the transferable care and support skills are valued.

You will work closely with teachers, implement individual plans, support communication and behaviour strategies, and help create a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in care or related support roles.
• Understanding of SEND needs and education environments is beneficial.
• Ability to support pupils with autism, learning disabilities and other needs.
• Good communication and safeguarding awareness are essential.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with autism, learning disabilities and other needs.
• Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Support communication, emotional regulation, social development and engagement in learning.
• Encourage independence and participation in classroom activities.
• Follow individual support plans, behaviour strategies and safeguarding procedures.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals.
• Provide patient, compassionate support throughout the school day.
