Job summary

TimePlan Education is seeking a Teaching Assistant for a Guildford school, starting September 2026. The role involves supporting individual pupils, including those with SEND, to access learning in a positive and inclusive environment.

You will assist the class teacher, work one-to-one and in small groups, and contribute to pupils' social, emotional and academic development. A DBS check is required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a school, childcare or similar setting.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND.
• Patient, empathetic and committed to helping every child succeed.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Works well in a team and uses initiative.
• Holds Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
• Work with pupils one-to-one and in small groups.
• Provide targeted support for children with SEND.
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual pupil requirements.
• Encourage positive behaviour, independence and engagement in learning.
