Job summary

Harris Academy Bermondsey in London is seeking a Teaching Assistant on a fixed-term contract to October 2027, to support individuals and groups of students, including those with SEND, within the academy.

You will assist classroom learning, help with personal needs—social, health, hygiene, first aid and welfare—and work closely with teachers and other staff to ensure a secure, inclusive environment that enables all students to participate and progress.

Qualifications

• Qualifications to degree level or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of SEND and learning barriers.
• Experience with supporting learning of students in education or training environments.
• Good literacy and numeracy, and ability to update records.

Responsibilities

• Support learning in the classroom with individuals and groups, including those with SEND.
• Attend to students' personal needs including social, health, hygiene, first aid and welfare matters.
• Work with teachers and staff to maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Manage workload effectively and communicate with a range of stakeholders.
