Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a SEND Support Specialist to work across secondary schools in Rochdale and Oldham, assisting pupils with SEND to access education in an inclusive environment.

The role suits those with prior experience supporting young people with SEND, from schools, colleges, care settings or specialist provision, and offers exposure to a range of needs and the potential for long-term roles.

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEND.
  • Support pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties.
  • Help students engage positively with their learning.
  • Support behaviour, emotional regulation and confidence.
  • Work closely with teachers and the wider pastoral/SEND team.
  • Adapt your approach to meet individual students’ needs.
  • Encourage independence and help pupils develop social and educational skills.
  • Work across Rochdale and Oldham in secondary school environments.
  • Gain experience working with a range of SEND needs.

Job description

We’re currently looking for a SEND Support Specialist to work across secondary schools in Rochdale and Oldham, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs and helping them access their education in a positive and inclusive environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous experience working with young people with SEND, whether that’s within a school, college, care setting or specialist provision.

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEND
  • Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties
  • Help students engage positively with their learning
  • Support behaviour, emotional regulation and confidence
  • Work closely with teachers and the wider pastoral/SEND team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
