Job summary

Envision Education in St Albans is seeking a SEND Support Assistant to join a welcoming school. The role involves providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, helping them engage in personalised learning.

You will work closely with teachers and therapists to support learning, communication, social and emotional development, and you may assist during therapy sessions. A Child DBS (Update Service) is preferred or willingness to apply.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a UK educational setting.
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willing to apply.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, caring, proactive and passionate about supporting children with additional needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and/or small group support for pupils with additional needs.
• Support pupils' learning, communication, social and emotional development.
• Assist pupils during therapy sessions and follow individual education and support plans.
• Help prepare engaging learning resources and classroom activities.
• Promote pupils' independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and other staff to meet individual needs.
• Help create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
