Job summary

Colne Primet Academy is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils across KS2/KS4, including those with SEND, within a busy, diverse school community.

You will work under supervision to support learning, use IEPs/ILPs/EHCPs, and contribute to safeguarding and high standards. Required qualifications and a commitment to CPD are essential.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Numeracy and Literacy qualification required.
• 4 GCSEs at grade C including Maths and English required.
• Level 2 Childcare qualification or equivalent required (e.g. CACHE, NVQ L2, NNEB).
• Level 3 childcare qualification or equivalent required.
• HND, Degree or other further qualifications desirable.
• Understand the needs of children with SEND essential.
• Experience of working with SEND children in education essential.
• Experience of using IEPs, ILPs and EHCPs essential.
• Experience of working with KS2/KS3/KS4 and relevant qualifications desirable.
• Understanding of classroom roles and responsibilities of Teaching Assistants essential.
• Ability to assist pupils with basic numeracy and literacy in line with learning strategies and national curriculum essential.
• Experience of basic administrative tasks desirable.
• First aider training desirable.
• Experience as a cover supervisor or similar role desirable.
• Experience of exams invigilation desirable.
