Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking an exceptional Special Educational Needs Assessment (SENA) Team Manager to lead practice, support staff and deliver high-quality statutory services for families across Leicestershire.

You will oversee the SENA service with Service Managers, ensure timely EHC assessment and review processes, and work with parents and partner agencies to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Relevant BTEC Higher, relevant NVQ Level 4 or equivalent and substantial experience, or equivalent work experiences.
• Recent and relevant experience of managing a team, with the ability to manage people and resources to create more effective and efficient service delivery.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the concepts and implications of special educational needs, including knowledge of current educational legislation, regulations and guidance as they apply to special educational needs.
• Ability to analyse and present data, including the ability to analyse complex legislation and guidance and interpret performance information to inform decision making.
• Ability to present information in clear written form for a variety of audiences, including experience of presenting information and arguments in formal settings.
• Ability to work in partnership with parents and staff from other agencies, demonstrating the ability to inspire confidence in the public and colleagues.
• Be highly motivated, flexible and able to use initiative, dependable and able to meet deadlines when under pressure.
