Job summary

Quantum Scholars in Wells, Somerset, seeks a patient, supportive SEND/SEMH Tutor for in-person, one-to-one educational support. You will adapt lessons to meet individual academic, emotional and behavioural needs, building positive relationships with learners and carers.

A calm, flexible approach and safeguarding commitment are essential. The role focuses on helping learners develop confidence, independence and positive attitudes toward learning, with experience supporting anxious or disengaged

Qualifications

Experience working with children or young people with SEND and/or SEMH needs.
Experience providing one-to-one educational or tutoring support.
Experience supporting learners that have barriers to accessing mainstream education.
Experience supporting challenging behaviour would be highly desirable.
Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
The right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

Providing personalised one-to-one educational support to children and young people with SEND/SEMH needs.
Adapting lessons, resources and teaching approaches to meet individual needs.
Supporting learners across the primary or secondary curriculum where appropriate.
Monitoring progress and providing appropriate feedback.
Working collaboratively with parents/carers and other professionals.
Maintaining professional boundaries and safeguarding the welfare of the young person.
