An educational support organization based in Solihull is looking for a SEND/SEMH Tutor to provide in-person tuition for children and young people with varying needs. Qualifications

  • Experience in SEND, SEMH, Alternative Provision or EOTAS.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed or child-centred practice.
  • Team Teach or behaviour support training.
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver 1:1 in-person tuition (Primary, KS3 or KS4).
  • Teach English, Maths and/or Science adapted to ability level.
  • Use flexible, creative and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Support confidence, engagement and emotional regulation.
  • Build positive, consistent relationships with CYP.
  • Liaise with parents, schools and Local Authority professionals.
  • Record clear session notes and progress updates.

About the Learners You’ll Support
  • Children and young people out of school due to:
  • Special Educational Needs (ASD, ADHD, SEMH, anxiety, trauma)
  • Mental health challenges or school refusal
  • Behavioural or emotional regulation difficulties
  • Medical needs or disrupted education
  • Awaiting a suitable school or specialist placement
What You’ll Be Doing
  • Deliver 1:1 in-person tuition (Primary, KS3 or KS4)
  • Teach English, Maths and/or Science adapted to ability level
  • Work in the home, school, or community setting
  • Use flexible, creative and trauma-informed approaches
  • Support confidence, engagement and emotional regulation
  • Build positive, consistent relationships with CYP
  • Liaise with parents, schools and Local Authority professionals
  • Record clear session notes and progress updates
Hours & Flexibility
  • 5-30 hours per week available
  • Typical sessions during school hours (9am-3pm)
  • No evenings or weekends
  • Take on as little or as much work as suits your circumstances
  • Ideal for tutors, teachers, SEND practitioners or professionals seeking flexibility
