Grandir UK Limited’s Silks Farm Day Nursery in Huntingdon is seeking a SEND Assistant to care for and support a child requiring extra help, working 1:1 and helping implement relevant plans. The role offers valuable progression in a nurturing, child-centered setting across rural Cambridgeshire.

The position runs on Thursdays and Fridays, eight hours per day, with potential to add another day later. A comprehensive benefits package accompanies flexible working and a strong team-focused culture.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND in early years settings.
• Ability to implement 1:1 support plans and maintain confidentiality.

Our Silks Farm Day Nursery, is looking for a caring and enthusiastic SEND Assistant to join our team. You will play a key role in caring for, supporting and inspiring our children, with a focus on working 1:1 with one particular child who needs additional support.

Hours would be 8 hours a day on a Thursday and Friday with the possibility of increasing to another day after time.

Location

Set in rural Cambridgeshire, we are located between Somersham village and St Ives retail park, near Cuckoobridge Farm Shop. The nursery is easily accessible by car and offers ample parking.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Acting as a liaison between parents and staff for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
• Working 1:1 with a child who requires additional support and guidance
• Ensuring appropriate Individual Education Plans (IEPs) are in place where required.
• Ensuring relevant background information for children with SEND is collected, recorded, and kept up to date.
• Keeping up to date with current initiatives and best practice in SEND.
