Job summary

Grandir UK Limited's Silks Farm Day Nursery in the Huntingdon area is seeking a caring Forest School Practitioner to inspire children through outdoor learning and Forest School activities.

You will contribute to safeguarding, provide rich experiences, and support staff across the nursery while delivering high-quality childcare in a rural Cambridgeshire setting.

Qualifications

• Experience with Forest School principles and outdoor learning.
• Commitment to high-quality childcare and safeguarding.
• Flexibility to work 3+ days per week.

Responsibilities

• Promote high standards of quality within the nursery and forest school in respect of environment and experiences.
• Where required assume key carer responsibilities for designated children.
• Ensure all children receive rich, stimulating experiences for their age and development.
• Prepare and support children's activities within the Forest School.
• Ensure nursery practice meets Early Years Foundation Stage requirements.
• Support and mentor students and unqualified staff for high-quality childcare.
• Maintain forest health and safety to the highest level and teach children accordingly.

Location

Set in rural Cambridgeshire, we are located between Somersham village and St Ives retail park, near Cuckoobridge Farm Shop. The nursery is easily accessible by car and offers ample parking.

What will you be doing

• Promote high standards of quality within the nursery and forest school in respect of the environment, resources and experiences offered to children
• Where required assume key carer responsibilities for designated children
• Ensure that all children attending the nursery and forest school receiverich and stimulating experiences appropriate to their age and stage of development
• Prepare and support children’s activities within the Forest School
• Contribute to ensuring that practice and provision in the nursery meets the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage
• Support and mentor students and un-qualified staff to ensure delivery of high-quality childcare practice
• Ensure that the forest's health and safety is always maintained at the highest level and the children's understanding of this is also supported
