We are looking for enthusiastic and inspiring SEND / LLDD Teacher to join our Lifeskills faculty based in at our Bracknell College campus. The Lifeskills team work to support learners who face barriers to education, including learners with special educational needs, as well as those learners who need support with the transition back into education and/or building their skills and knowledge in preparation for their continued educational journey.
You’ll be teaching learners aged 16-25 with an EHCP on the Supported Internship Programme. You will be teaching an employability-based curriculum designed to complement their work placements undertaken during the week.
This post provides an excellent opportunity for a teacher with passion and drive who is committed to enabling our students to unlock their potential and switch on to the power of learning.
You will be required to work closely with Ways into Work and other professionals supporting the students in their final year at college.
This is a casual position based at our Bracknell & Wokingham College, offering 5 hours per week, with work likely to take place on Fridays.
What do you need to be a successful SEND / LLDD Teacher at Activate Learning?
We are looking for a teacher who can enthuse our learners and ensure that they leave us with the attributes required to progress in the world of work. A genuine interest in working with and developing young people is a requirement.
You must be a strong communicator and be able to use the Microsoft Office Suite. Additionally, you must hold at least a Grade 4/C in GCSE English and Maths with certificates that evidence this.
Successful candidates will have experience in teaching employability/careers activities and the ability to nurture and support young adults with a variety of needs. Experience teaching students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities would be highly desirable, but is not essential.
Whilst previous teaching experience or qualification would be an advantage, it is not a requirement. As long as you have the industry experience and demonstrate the attributes to be an inspirational teacher, we can provide you with the necessary training, development and support to equip you to teach in the FE sector.
