Job summary

Philosophy Education in Bromley seeks an experienced Lecturer to deliver inclusive, differentiated teaching for students with additional and complex needs. You will lead a team of Learning Support Assistants and work with therapists and families to support learners’ progress and independence.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent professional qualification.
• Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE or Certificate in Education).
• Minimum five years' experience working with children or young people with additional and complex needs.
• Experience of planning and delivering differentiated learning.
• Strong safeguarding, inclusion and student-centred learning.

Responsibilities

The Role

As a Lecturer, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated teaching that meets the individual needs of students while promoting independence, confidence and positive outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and managing a team of Learning Support Assistants and Assistant Lecturers.
• Working collaboratively with therapists, families and other professionals to support students' learning and development.

• Contributing to curriculum development and continuous quality improvement.
• Supporting safeguarding, student wellbeing and an inclusive learning environment.

About You

To be successful, you will have:

• A degree or equivalent professional qualification.
• A recognized teaching qualification (PGCE or Certificate in Education).
• A minimum of five years' experience working with children or young people with additional and complex needs.
• Experience of planning and delivering differentiated learning.
• Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills.
• A strong commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and student-centered learning.
• The ability to lead, motivate and develop a team of support staff.

Experience within specialist education, SEND settings or further education is highly desirable. A specialist SEND qualification, experience leading teams and knowledge of assistive technology would also be advantageous.
