Job summary

The-Protocol-Group seeks a Lecturer in Supported Studies for our Stevenage Campus to help young people aged 16-24 with SEND develop independence, employability, and life skills. You will deliver engaging lessons in an inclusive environment and collaborate with staff and external partners to support progression toward further study or employment.

The role requires FE/ SEND experience, a teaching qualification or willingness to obtain one, and a commitment to safeguarding and learner-centred

Qualifications

  • Experience teaching within Further Education, Supported Learning, SEND, Adult Education, or a related setting.
  • Recognised teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one.
  • Strong knowledge of inclusive teaching and learning strategies.
  • Experience supporting learners with additional learning needs.
  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • A Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning to students with a range of learning needs and abilities.
  • Plan engaging and creative lessons that promote independence and progression.
  • Assess learner needs and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual requirements.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement.
  • Embed English, Maths, employability, and personal development within the curriculum.
  • Provide academic and pastoral support to help students achieve their goals.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessment, and progress.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, parents, carers, and external agencies.
  • Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, inclusion, and British Values.
  • Support progression into higher-level study, supported internships, training, or employment.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, committed, and innovative Lecturer in Supported Studies to join our highly successful SEND provision at our Stevenage Campus. This is an exciting opportunity to support young people aged 16-24 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to develop the skills, confidence, and independence needed for successful adult lives, further study, and employment.

Our Supported Studies provision offers a range of personalised programmes designed to equip learners with independent living, employability, communication, and social skills in a supportive and inclusive environment. We are looking for an outstanding practitioner who can bring learning to life, inspire students, and help them achieve their full potential.

The Role

As a Lecturer in Supported Studies, you will plan and deliver engaging, differentiated learning programmes that meet the diverse needs of learners with SEND. You will create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation, achievement, and personal development.

Key responsibilities include:

About You

We are looking for a passionate educator who is dedicated to delivering exceptional outcomes for learners with SEND.

You will have:

  • Experience teaching within Further Education, Supported Learning, SEND, Adult Education, or a related setting.
  • A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one.
  • Strong knowledge of inclusive teaching and learning strategies.
  • Experience supporting learners with additional learning needs.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and learner-centred practice.
  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).

A Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training and experience delivering employability, life skills, English, or Maths programmes would be advantageous.
