Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting a conscientious SEND Learning Support Assistant for a specialist post-16 setting in Harrogate starting September. You will support learners 1:1 and in small groups, tailoring activities to EHCP outcomes and promoting independence and wellbeing.

The role offers long-term, potential permanent placement with specialist SEND training and CPD, and ongoing consultant support to ensure a rewarding placement helping young people develop academically and personally.

Qualifications

• Caring, patient and resilient qualities essential for SEND support.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills are required.
• Knowledge of SEND and inclusive education is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support learners on a 1:1 and small group basis.
• Assist with personalised learning activities aligned to EHCP outcomes.
• Encourage independence and confidence in and out of the classroom.
• Support life skills and employability activities within the learning environment.
• Promote positive behaviour and wellbeing; collaborate with staff and therapists.
