Job summary

ANZUK Education is partnering with a supportive secondary school in Grays, Thurrock, to recruit a SEND Learning Support Assistant (LSA). The role focuses on providing tailored 1:1 and small-group support for students with ASD/ADHD and SEMH needs, with DBS on update service preferred or willingness to apply.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND preferred.
• Patient, empathetic and resilient nature.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with students facing barriers to learning.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
• Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of pupils.

Responsibilities

• Support students 1:1 or in small groups in class.
• Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs.
• Maintain a safe, encouraging learning environment and manage behaviours calmly.
• Monitor progress and report to Class Teacher and SENCO.
• Promote independence and social skills among students.
