Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a full-time SEND Learning Support Assistant in Forest Hall to support pupils with Autism, ADHD and other learning needs. You will work closely with teachers to enable access to education and develop independence, building trust with learners and celebrating progress.

Ideal candidates are patient, adaptable and collaborative, with experience in SEND or youth work; training in safeguarding and behaviour management is provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in SEND, education, care, youth work or support work is beneficial
• Ability to adapt approach to different learners
• Clear and confident communication
• Calm, reliable and approachable in a team setting

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 support during lessons and activities
• Support small-group learning and targeted interventions
• Adapt resources to meet individual learning needs
• Encourage communication, confidence and independence
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
• Work collaboratively with teachers and specialist staff
• Recognise and celebrate pupil progress
