Job summary

Castle Education is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant (SEND) to work across primary schools in and around Selby. This role starts September 2026 and offers part-time hours with a competitive PAYE daily rate.

You will support pupils with SEND needs, deliver targeted interventions, and help create an inclusive classroom environment, working alongside teachers and SENCOs. DBS check required for successful candidate.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people.
• A patient, positive and caring approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility and enthusiasm to work across different school settings.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with a range of SEND needs both in and out of the classroom.
• Encourage confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours.
• Deliver small group and one-to-one interventions.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and support staff.
• Help create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
