Job summary

Timeplan Education Group is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs in a SEND setting, based in Ilford. The role focuses on 1:1 learning support and care for children aged 5 to 18 with varied needs.

Experience in SEND is preferred but not essential. A valid DBS (online update service) is required, and you should be available 5 days a week for 1–6 months. Term-time hours and remote registration options are noted.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young adults with learning difficulties or disabilities.
• Valid DBS registered with the online update service or willing to apply for a new one.
• Experience in school-based or care-based environments is helpful, with basic knowledge of supporting learning needs.

Responsibilities

• Experience supporting young people in education.
• Willingness to assist with personal care if required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with pupils, staff and families.
• Be DBS-cleared (online update service) or willing to obtain one.
• Available 5 days a week and able to commit to 1–6 months.
