Job summary

ANZUK Education, based in Southend-on-Sea, is seeking a SEND Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 and small group support for students aged 14–19 with SEND, including SLD, PMLD, ASD and ADHD.

You will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to tailor learning materials, support emotional regulation, and foster independence in a nurturing, inclusive environment. DBS Update Service preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting SEND needs (within education, care, or personal settings).
• A "child‑first" mindset with high levels of patience and resilience.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and pupil welfare.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored 1:1 and small group interventions.
• Adapt learning materials to meet diverse SLD, PMLD, and SEND needs.
• Manage complex behaviours using positive de‑escalation techniques.

Salary: £92.63 – £100 per day (PAYE and Umbrella options available)

The Role:

You will provide vital 1:1 and small group support, working closely with class teachers and the SENCO to bridge the gap between students and the curriculum. You will be a calm, reassuring presence for pupils facing emotional and communication challenges, safely helping them regulate their emotions, access sensory learning, and navigate their personal development.
