Job summary

The Laurels Primary School in Worthing is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a child with additional needs and contribute to inclusive learning. You will work closely with the class teacher, families and external professionals to implement targeted strategies and monitor progress.

You will promote independence, resilience and emotional regulation, adapting activities to meet individual needs while maintaining safeguarding and high expectations of pupil welfare.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children, including those with additional needs.
• Ability to build a positive, trusting relationship with an individual child.
• Patience, empathy and resilience when supporting learning and wellbeing.
• Understanding of SEND and strategies to support communication, engagement and emotional regulation.
• Ability to adapt learning activities to meet a child's individual needs.
• Strong communication with teachers, parents and external professionals.
• Commitment to promoting independence, confidence and inclusion.
• Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsibilities
