Job summary

Broadstone Middle School is seeking a SEND Lead to champion inclusive education and ensure high-quality SEND provision across the school. You will work closely with pupils, families, staff and external agencies to coordinate support and implement Learning Plans that enable every child to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

The role focuses on coordinating interventions, monitoring impact and building strong partnerships.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children with SEND.
• Compassionate, patient and approachable.
• Excellent communication with pupils, families and professionals.
• Organised and proactive with ability to manage workload and maintain records.
• Calm, resilient and solution-focused with sensitive handling of challenging situations.
• Team player with collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support and monitor SEND provision across the school; ensure pupils receive right support at the right time.
• Develop, implement and review Learning Plans with teachers to enable access to learning.
• Build relationships with pupils, families and external agencies for joined-up support.
• Coordinate referrals, assessments and communication with external professionals.
• Monitor the impact of interventions and support staff in delivering effective strategies.
• Champion inclusive practice and help colleagues develop confidence in supporting SEND.
• Support children through key transitions to prepare for the next stage of their education.
