Job summary

Yeovil College is seeking an enthusiastic Intervention and Cover Lecturer to support learners with SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS and disabilities. You’ll join the Foundation Learning Team to deliver high-quality cover teaching and tailored interventions, stepping into classes during short-term absences and planning targeted support for individuals or small groups.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching students with SEND in mainstream, college, or specialist settings.
• Ability to work well in a team.
• Strong communication and organisation skills.
• Empathetic approach to teaching with ability to manage challenging situations.
• Willingness to work towards teaching qualification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality cover lessons to learners during short-term absences.
• Develop targeted intervention strategies and plans.
• Maintain risk assessments and manage classroom behaviour.
• Collaborate with study programme managers and external agencies.
• Support learners inside and outside the classroom, including educational trips.
