Job Description

At the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster, we believe that every child deserves the right support to reach their full potential. As a SEND Inclusive Education Teacher, you’ll help schools across the Bi-borough build inclusive environments that work for children and young people with EHCPs – giving them the tools and confidence and right interventions to succeed.

Working Style

You’ll be based in the Bi-Borough for five days a week, playing a key role in serving the local community through your school visits. Whether out on school visits, writing your notes of visit or attending meetings, you’ll be part of a dedicated team making a real difference to residents’ lives.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be visiting mainstream primary and secondary schools to support the effective delivery of EHCP provision. You’ll observe students in class, model effective strategies, coach school staff, to help embed inclusive practice and ensure the right support is in place.

Using your experience and expertise, you’ll write clear, evidence-based reports and share practical advice with schools and families to help guide decisions. You’ll also work closely with teams across the council, health professionals and other partners, contributing to working groups and helping to shape our local approach to inclusion.

This is a varied role where you’ll have the chance to make a visible difference in classrooms and schools across the Bi-borough.

What You’ll Bring

You’ll be a qualified teacher (QTS) with experience supporting children with SEND in mainstream settings. You understand how to adapt teaching to meet a wide range of needs, and you’re confident sharing that knowledge with others.

You’ll bring a strong understanding of current, evidence-based approaches to SEND, along with a solid working knowledge of the Children & Families Act 2014 and the SEN Code of Practice. Just as importantly, you’ll be someone who communicates clearly, builds trust, and works collaboratively with school leaders, staff and families to create meaningful change.

Interview Details And Role Requirements

Interviews will be held on Wednesday 25 th June 2025.

This role requires an Enhanced DBS check with Children’s and Adult’s Barred List.
