Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant for a school in Royston, Hertfordshire, to work full-time on a temporary-to-permanent basis. The role runs 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday, with start ASAP or after notice.

The successful candidate will support pupils with SEND and contribute to a positive classroom environment. Experience with children, GCSEs in English and Maths, and a calm, patient approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous SEND experience - essential.
• GCSEs including English and Maths.
• Experience working with children or young people.
• Reliable and hardworking.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
• Calm, patient and supportive manner.
• Full-time availability, Monday to Friday.
• Availability to start ASAP or after completing a current notice period.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEND in class and assist teaching staff.
• Promote pupil safety and welfare, and manage classroom routines.
• Encourage learning, engagement and participation in activities.
• Liaise with teachers and support staff to monitor progress.
