Job summary

Quantum Scholars is seeking a patient, experienced SEND English Tutor to provide personalised one-to-one English tuition to a secondary-aged learner in Leominster, Herefordshire.

You will adapt lessons to meet individual SEND needs, build a trusting relationship, and create a calm, structured learning environment where the learner can engage with education. Experience with SEND, anxiety or disengagement is highly desirable, and safeguarding checks are required.

Qualifications

• Strong English knowledge at secondary level.

• Supporting the secondary English curriculum and GCSE preparation where appropriate.
• Developing confidence in reading and written communication.
• Supporting a learner who may experience anxiety, school avoidance or disengagement.
• Creating a calm, structured and positive learning environment.
• Using the learner's interests and strengths to encourage engagement.
• Developing confidence, independence and resilience.
• Monitoring progress and providing appropriate feedback.
• Building a positive and trusting relationship with the learner.

Quantum Scholars are looking for a patient, supportive and experienced SEND English Tutor to provide personalised one-to-one English tuition to a young person in Leominster.

The successful tutor will have experience supporting learners with SEND and be confident adapting their teaching style, pace and resources to meet individual needs. You will be able to build a positive relationship with the learner and create a calm, supportive environment where they feel comfortable engaging with education.

Experience supporting young people who have barriers to mainstream education, including anxiety, school avoidance, disengagement or SEMH needs, would be highly desirable.

This is an in-person tutoring role and is not online work.

The role may involve:
