Job summary

Dovetail And Slate Ltd in Manchester is seeking an experienced English Teacher to join a specialist education organisation supporting young people with SEND and SEMH needs. You will plan and deliver engaging English lessons, differentiate for individual needs, and support learners to achieve English qualifications.

The role offers a full-time permanent contract, ASAP start, and a collaborative environment within a specialist education team.

Qualifications

• Strong English subject knowledge required.
• Recognition teaching qualification (QTS, QTLS, PGCE, Cert Ed or DET).
• Experience teaching English at GCSE/Functional Skills is desirable.

Salary: £42,000 - £47,000 per annum

About You

• Strong English subject knowledge.
• Recognised teaching qualification such as QTS, QTLS, PGCE, Cert Ed or DET.
• Experience teaching English, ideally GCSE and/or Functional Skills.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Able to differentiate effectively for individual needs.
• Passionate, resilient and learner-focused.

Experience working with SEND, SEMH, alternative provision or specialist education would be advantageous but is not essential.
