Job summary

Dovetail and Slate in Manchester are seeking an experienced English Teacher to join a specialist education organisation supporting young people with SEND and SEMH needs. You will plan and deliver engaging English lessons and adapt to learners' needs.

The role requires strong English knowledge, QTS or equivalent, and experience teaching GCSE/Functional Skills. You will monitor progress, support qualification aims, and work collaboratively with staff in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Strong English subject knowledge.
• Recognised teaching qualification such as QTS, QTLS, PGCE, Cert Ed or DET.
• Experience teaching English, ideally GCSE and/or Functional Skills.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Able to differentiate effectively for individual needs.
• Passionate, resilient and learner-focused.
• Experience working with SEND, SEMH, alternative provision or specialist education would be advantageous but is not essential.
