Job summary

New City College is seeking an Enterprise and Employability Facilitator to support young people with SEND in developing employability skills and progressing into meaningful work. You will coach students through employability sessions, work placements and social enterprise activities, helping them build confidence, independence and real-world work skills.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with young people with SEND in education, training or employment settings.
• Strong understanding of good practice in supporting individuals with SEND in the workplace.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to assess, track and monitor progress and maintain accurate records.
• Confidence in helping employers make workplaces and tasks accessible.

Responsibilities

• Support and coach young people with SEND to develop employability and interpersonal skills.
• Facilitate employability skills sessions within timetabled programmes.
• Establish and manage work placements and social enterprise opportunities on campus and in the community.
• Build relationships with employers, families, external agencies and college staff.
• Track and record student progress and maintain high-quality records.
• Carry out risk assessments and promote safe working practices in placements.
• Support employer engagement activities including site visits and live briefs.
• Monitor attendance and progress on placements and liaise with employers.
• Maintain employer databases and promote a positive College image.
