TeacherActive is working with a specialist school in Darlington to recruit a SEND Teacher with a Computing specialism. The successful candidate will deliver engaging Computing and ICT lessons to pupils with SEND, teaching across the curriculum up to Key Stage 5.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Strong Computing/ICT/CS specialism.
• Experience teaching pupils with SEND.
• Ability to differentiate lessons effectively.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver Computing/ICT lessons up to KS5.
• Adapt lessons for diverse learning needs.
• Support pupils with SEND including autism, ADHD, SEMH needs and communication difficulties.
• Create a positive, structured and inclusive classroom environment.
• Assess pupil progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Work closely with teaching assistants, pastoral staff and other professionals.
• Follow individual education, support and behaviour plans.
• Promote pupils' confidence, independence and digital skills.
