Job summary

TeacherActive is working in partnership with a specialist school in Darlington to recruit a passionate and dedicated SEND Teacher with an ICT Specialism. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher who is committed to supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

The successful candidate will deliver engaging ICT lessons up to Key Stage 5, adapting teaching to meet the diverse needs of learners and helping every student achieve their full

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching ICT across secondary education, ideally up to Key Stage 5.
• Previous experience working with students with SEND.
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and differentiated ICT lessons up to Key Stage 5.
• Support students with SEND including ASC, ADHD, SEMH, and communication needs.
• Create a positive, inclusive and structured learning environment.
• Plan, assess and monitor student progress, adapting strategies as needed.
• Work with teaching assistants, therapists and other professionals to support learning plans.
• Encourage students to develop confidence, independence and essential digital skills.
