Job summary

Academics is seeking a highly experienced Complex Needs Teacher for a specialist school in Wirral. The role focuses on delivering tailored education to pupils with PMLD, SLD, ASC, and other complex needs in a supportive environment. A strong background in behaviour management is essential, with collaboration across TAs and therapists to implement IEPs.

Qualified Teachers with QTS or equivalent are encouraged to apply. Experience in SEND settings, and Team Teach training are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Qualifications - Hold Qualifying Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualifications.
• Experience - SEND setting with SLD and PMLD.
• Training - Team teach training advantageous; behaviour management certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Engaging Lessons: adapt curriculum for complex needs with emphasis on sensory engagement and skill development.
• Provide a Safe Environment: create an inclusive, nurturing learning space for every student.
• Work Multidisciplinary: collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and parents to support IEPs.
• Track Progress: monitor and record student progress, adjusting approaches for evolving needs.
