Job description

Aspire People are currently seeking dedicated Autism Specialist support staff for a Primary school in the Northfield area.

This role involves 1-1 support with a primary child with Autism. We are looking for Learning Support Assistants who can develop and nurture positive relationships.

To succeed in this role, you should have an empathetic nature, resilience, and the ability to use your own initiative. Health and safety procedures, as well as the welfare of the children, are paramount.

Previous experience is advantageous, as the role requires patience and understanding. However, if you are passionate about supporting children with additional needs but lack experience, we are open to considering your application on an individual basis.

Aspire People is dedicated to improving education for SEND children across Birmingham, supporting local Special Needs Schools in finding suitable staff to meet their community's needs.

Minimum requirements for consideration include:

  • Ideally a qualification in Support Teaching and Learning (not essential)
  • An enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND (desirable)
