Job summary

Options Trent Acres School is seeking a passionate SENCO to lead and develop our SEND provision, ensuring every pupil receives the right support and opportunities to thrive.

This role offers strategic leadership across SEND, EHCP coordination, collaboration with SLT, teachers, families and external agencies, and a focus on inclusion.

The position is permanent, full-time (term-time option), based at Trent Acres, DE13 7HR, with a salary up to £42,500 and December 2026 start.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher status (QTS/QLTS) and NASENCO or willingness to complete within three years.
• Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current SEND practice.
• Experience using assessment/data to evaluate provision and inform planning.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for SEND across the school.
• Lead development, implementation and evaluation of the SEND provision.
• Coordinate EHCP provision, Annual Reviews and provision mapping.
• Collaborate with teachers, pastoral and clinical teams, parents and external agencies.
• Contribute to school improvement, self‑evaluation and staff development.
• Champion inclusion and ensure access to curriculum and school life.
