JAM Recruitment Ltd is sourcing a SENCO for a SEND school in Atherstone. This full-time role leads SEND provision, ensuring high-quality education for pupils with Autism Spectrum Conditions, MLD, and related needs.

The role requires QTS and experience with EHCPs, annual reviews, and SEND best practices. It offers a permanent leadership opportunity within a supportive, specialist setting and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
• The National Award for SEN Coordination (or working towards it) is preferred.
• Significant experience in a SEND setting is essential.
• Excellent knowledge of EHCPs, SEND Code of Practice and inclusive education.
• Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.

Job description

This full‑time SENCO – SEND School position in Atherstone offers a salary between £46,940 and £52,835 per annum. You will join a specialist setting supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition, Moderate Learning Difficulties, and associated needs. The role requires a qualified professional to lead on provision, ensuring high‑quality education and support.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate SEND provision across the school
• Oversee EHCP implementation, annual reviews and statutory processes
• Monitor pupil progress and ensure personalised learning programmes are effective
• Support teachers and support staff to deliver outstanding SEND practice
• Work collaboratively with families, therapists and external professionals
• Lead staff training and promote high‑quality inclusive teaching
• Contribute to whole‑school improvement and strategic planning
• Ensure the school remains fully compliant with SEND legislation and best practice

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• The National Award for SEN Coordination (or be working towards it where appropriate)
• Significant experience working within a SEND setting
• Excellent knowledge of EHCPs, the SEND Code of Practice and inclusive education
• Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
• A collaborative approach and a passion for improving outcomes for children with SEND
