Job summary

Ripple Education is seeking a compassionate SENCo for a primary school near Blyth. The role can be full-time or part-time for the right candidate and runs until the end of the 2026/2027 academic year.

You will lead SEND provision, support colleagues, and work closely with families to help every pupil participate, progress and succeed. The position emphasizes safeguarding and partnership with families.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
• SENCo qualifications and eligibility for the role.
• Experience coordinating SEND provision and supporting inclusive practice.
• Understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and graduated approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate SEND provision across the school.
• Support early identification and assessment of pupils’ needs.
• Oversee the assess, plan, do and review cycle.
• Support teachers to adapt teaching and develop inclusive practice.
• Monitor impact of support on pupils’ progress, participation and wellbeing.
• Liaise with local authority, educational psychologists and external professionals.
• Coordinate contributions to Education, Health and Care plans and annual reviews.
• Maintain SEND records and support information sharing.
• Provide advice, guidance and training to colleagues.
• Support pupils’ transitions between classes and settings.
