Job summary

Story Wood School is seeking a dedicated SENCo and Inclusion Lead to shape our inclusive vision and lead SEND provision. You will work with SLT to plan interventions, map provision, and drive improvements while overseeing safeguarding as the DSL and maintaining safeguarding records.

You will guide consultations, support staff with inclusive teaching, and ensure EHCP targets are met in line with statutory guidance. Collaboration with families, staff, and external agencies is essential.

Qualifications

• QTS and NPQ for SENCOs are required.
• Experience with SEND Code of Practice, EHCP processes, and safeguarding.
• Strong data analysis, communication, and collaboration skills with staff, families and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic development of SEND and inclusion with high-quality, personalised provision.
• Manage interventions and map provision to meet EHCP targets and statutory requirements.
• Oversee safeguarding as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and maintain records, liaising with authorities.
• Provide guidance, support and training to staff to ensure inclusive teaching practices.
• Attend weekly SLT meetings and contribute to school-wide strategic planning.
