Job summary

St Mary's Catholic Academy in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking an experienced SENCO and KS1 Class Teacher to join our dedicated team. You will lead the SEND provision while delivering KS1 lessons, contributing to an inclusive, faith-centred educational environment.

The successful candidate will hold QTS and the National Award for SEN Coordination, drive effective interventions, and collaborate with families and professionals to support every pupil.

St Mary's Catholic Academy, part of the St Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Multi-Academy Trust, is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dedicated teacher to join our team as Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) and KS1 Class Teacher.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and highly motivated professional who is committed to ensuring that all children, regardless of need or background, achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading and developing our SEND provision whilst also teaching within Key Stage 1.

We are seeking an individual who can demonstrate a strong commitment to inclusive education, has a proven track record of supporting pupils with additional needs, and is able to work effectively with staff, parents, external agencies and the wider school community.

The Successful Candidate Will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Hold the National Award for SEN Coordination.
• Be an excellent classroom practitioner with experience of teaching in Key Stage 1.
• Have a thorough understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and current SEND legislation.
• Demonstrate successful leadership and management of SEND provision.
• Have experience of developing, implementing and reviewing effective support plans and interventions.
• Be skilled in analysing pupil progress and using assessment information to improve outcomes for children with SEND.
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and build positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents and external professionals.
• Support and uphold the Catholic ethos and values of the school.
• Be committed to securing the best possible outcomes for all pupils through high-quality inclusive practice.
