Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the provision for students with special educational needs.
  • Coordinate and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and ensure they are effectively delivered.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support students' learning and development.
  • Provide professional guidance to colleagues on SEN best practices and interventions.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of students with SEN and report to senior leadership.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest SEN policies, procedures, and educational research.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with relevant SENCO qualification or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a SENCO role or substantial experience working with children with special educational needs.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A proactive and positive approach, with the ability to inspire and motivate both students and staff.
  • Strong knowledge of SEN legislation and best practices.
