Job Details

Elevate Supply is partnering with a nurturing and inclusive primary school in East Sheffield (S13) to recruit an experienced and passionate SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator). This role offers an opportunity to lead SEN provision and make a significant impact on pupils with additional needs.

The position is available from May half term through the end of the academic year, with a strong possibility of becoming permanent from September.

Pay Range

£140 – £200 per day, depending on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and coordinate SEN provision across the school
  • Develop and implement EHCPs and SEND Support Plans
  • Collaborate with teachers to differentiate teaching and interventions
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies
  • Ensure compliance with SEND Code of Practice and statutory guidance
  • Manage and support a team of teaching assistants and support staff
  • Maintain detailed records of pupil progress and interventions
  • Contribute to school-wide training, policies, and strategic development
Candidate Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience as a SENCO or inclusion lead in a primary or secondary setting
  • Strong understanding of SEND legislation and practices
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Empathetic, collaborative, and proactive approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
