SANZA Teaching Agency is assisting a warm, welcoming primary school in Havering to recruit an experienced SENCO for an immediate start. The role is full-time, with potential for 4 days if needed, and may lead to a permanent contract.

The school is in Havering, near Elizabeth Line access, with onsite parking available. You will lead SEND provision, coordinate EHCPs, and work with families and external agencies to support SEND pupils.

Qualifications

• Experience as SENCO in a primary school setting.
• Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and EHCP processes.
• Ability to lead and develop SEND provision across a school.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the school's SEND provision, ensuring inclusive practice.
• Identify students with additional needs and coordinate interventions and support.
• Collaborate with teachers, teaching assistants, parents and external agencies.
• Create and oversee Education Plans and EHCPs.
• Advise staff on adapting teaching to meet SEND needs.
• Coordinate referrals for specialist assessments and external services.
• Monitor progress and evaluate SEND interventions.
• Ensure reasonable adjustments to support curriculum access.
• Support staff in behaviour management and inclusive teaching strategies.
• Attend family meetings to discuss concerns and next steps.

SANZA Teaching Agency is working with a warm and welcoming primary school in Havering. They are looking for an experienced SENCO to join their team!

Further details:

• The role is to start immediately.
• Full-time ideally, however, 4 days may be possible for the right candidate.
• 3- form entry junior school.
• Length of the contract is negotiable and a permanent contract is possible.
• School is located in Havering and is close to Elizbeth Line (Romford Station).
• Onsite parking available.

Key responsibilities of a SENCO include:

• Lead and develop the school's SEND provision, ensuring inclusive practice across the school.
• Identify students with additional needs and coordinate appropriate interventions and support.
• Work in collaboration with teachers, teaching assistants, parents and external agencies.
• Create and oversee Education Plans and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Support and advise staff in adapting teaching and learning to meet the needs of students.
• Coordinate assessments and referrals to external specialists.
• Monitor student progress and evaluate the effectiveness of SEND interventions.
• Ensure reasonable adjustments are made to help pupils access the curriculum.
• Guide teaching assistants on effective strategies for supporting pupils with SEND.
• Help staff manage challenging behaviour and implement positive behaviour support strategies.
• Provide training and share best practice around inclusive teaching.
• Attend meetings with families to discuss concerns and agree on next steps.
• Help families understand assessment processes and access further support.
• Coordinate referrals for specialist assessments.
• Track, review and record progress of SEND students.
