Do you have what it takes to be an exceptional SENCo for our wonderful pupils? Danegrove Primary School is looking to recruit a motivated and engaging qualified teacher as our SENCo.We are a lovely three-form entry primary school based in the London Borough of Barnet.If you are looking to join a forward-thinking primary school with a supportive leadership and an amazing staff team – then this is the role for you.

The successful candidate should be an outstanding teacher (and ideally an experienced SENCo) who is looking for a new challenge and an exciting opportunity to develop effective practice, whilst continuing to promote our culture of inclusiveness throughout the school community.They must have energy, commitment, an enduring passion for education and high expectations for all pupils.

The Head teacher encourages staff to be creative and innovative in their approach to teaching and learning, within an inclusive, happy and stimulating learning environment.

This position is not suitable for ECTs

Salary: Outer London MPS1 – UP3 plus TLR (amount depending on experience and qualifications)

We are looking for someone who:

  • has an excellent knowledge of SEN in a primary school;
  • can play a key role by ensuring that all pupils with additional needs make accelerated progress and achieve to the best of their ability;
  • will contribute to and implement strategic plans for the provision of pupils with EHCPs;
  • will lead CPD for staff and workshops for parents;
  • can provide leadership and direction to a large staff team by providing guidance and support that ensures high quality teaching, and effective use of support and resources;
  • will professionally liaise with outside agencies/specialists to help achieve the best outcomes for pupils;
  • is a team player, has a positive outlook and a sense of humour;
  • will contribute to the wider life of the school;
  • holds the National Award for SEN Co-ordinators or the NPQ for SENCos, or is prepared to undertake the NPQ for SENCos.
