Job description

A forward-thinking and inclusive school in Basingstoke is looking for a dedicated SENCO to join the leadership team starting in September 2025. This is a permanent, full-time position suitable for a qualified SENCO who is passionate about promoting equity, inclusion, and academic success for all learners.

The SENCO will lead a skilled and experienced team focused on early intervention, EHCP support, and differentiated classroom strategies. The school has a strong track record of supporting learners with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH.

As SENCO, your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing SEND provision across the school

  • Coordinating individual plans, interventions, and external agency support

  • Training and supporting teaching staff in inclusive practices

  • Managing a team of Learning Support Assistants and intervention specialists

  • Leading meetings with families and maintaining open communication

  • Monitoring and tracking the progress of SEND learners

  • Reporting to SLT and governors on SEND provision and impact

To be considered for this SENCO role, you should:

  • Hold QTS and have completed the NASENCO qualification (or be working towards it)

  • Be well-versed in the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation

  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Be passionate about supporting students of all backgrounds to thrive
