Job summary

Choice Teachers is seeking a passionate SEN Tutor to join an inclusive educational setting in Stevenage. The role is primarily full-time (37 hours per week) but part-time applications will be considered for the right candidate, with immediate start.

You will deliver targeted 1-to-1 and small group tuition for students with SEN, adapt teaching methods to individual needs, and collaborate with staff to monitor progress while maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting or teaching students with SEN within a school, college, or alternative provision.
• Relevant teaching, tutoring, or specialist support qualifications (QTS/ QTLS/PGCE or SEN qualifications).
• Strong communication, patience, and adaptability.
• Available to start immediately on a full-time or flexible part-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted 1-to-1 and small group tuition tailored to students with diverse SEN requirements (ASC, MLD, SLD, SEMH).
• Adapt curriculum content and teaching styles to suit individual learning paces and communication needs.
• Collaborate with support staff, subject teachers, and senior leadership to monitor student progress.
• Manage behaviour positively and create a safe, engaging learning atmosphere.
• Maintain accurate records of student engagement, achievement, and developmental milestones.
