Job summary

Remedy Tutoring is seeking an experienced SEN Tutor to support children and young people in Coulsdon and surrounding areas. You will deliver tailored tuition across core subjects, adapting to each student’s needs and learning style, with a focus on confidence and progression.

The role emphasizes building positive relationships, monitoring progress, and delivering sessions in students’ homes, libraries or school settings. A driving licence and 2+ years of tutoring experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' teaching or tutoring experience.
• PGCE or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience working with children and young people with SEN.
• Full driving licence and access to reliable transport.
• Flexibility to deliver tuition in different environments (home, library, school).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive relationships.
• Patient, empathetic and adaptable approach to different learning styles.
• Strong organisational skills to plan lessons and manage time.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored tuition across core subjects (English, Maths, Science) based on student needs.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons adapted to individual learning abilities and targets.
• Support students with SEN, considering learning difficulties and barriers to education.
• Build positive, trusting relationships to encourage engagement and confidence.
• Monitor progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet goals.
