Job summary

Remedy Tutoring is seeking an experienced SEN Tutor to provide personalised tuition in English, Maths and Science for students in Coulsdon and surrounding areas. The role emphasizes building trust, tailoring lessons to individual needs and supporting learners with SEN to boost confidence and educational progress.

The tutor may work across homes, libraries and school environments, with flexibility in availability. A minimum of 2 years of teaching or tutoring experience and PGCE/QTS are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' teaching or tutoring experience.
• PGCE or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
• Full driving licence and access to reliable transport for travel between tuition locations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored tuition across core subjects (English, Maths, Science) to the student’s needs.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons adapted to individual learning abilities and targets.
• Support students with SEN, considering learning difficulties and barriers to education.
• Build positive, trusting relationships to encourage engagement and confidence.
• Monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies to help students reach goals.
• Provide a patient, structured learning environment for participation.
