Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated SEN Tutor for Barnet on a temporary, part-time basis. You will provide 1:1 tuition in Functional Skills, Maths and/or English, tailoring to each learner and EHCP needs.

You will collaborate with parents and professionals to ensure coordinated support, and you will work with learners having SEND (Autism, ADHD, SEMH, development delay and communication needs).

Qualifications

• Experience tutoring SEN students in educational or therapeutic settings.
• Ability to tailor teaching to various levels and learning styles.
• Experience delivering ESOL to adults or young people.
• Relevant teaching qualification (TESOL/TEFL/PGCE or equivalent).
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 tuition in Functional Skills, Maths and/or English.
• Adapt lessons to each learner's ability and EHCP requirements.
• Design individualised lesson plans in line with EHCPs.
• Collaborate with parents, carers and professionals for coordinated support.
• Build trust and foster student engagement.
